Services and Support for Veterans

What is Veteran Directed Care?
Veteran Directed Care provides Veterans of all ages the opportunity to receive the Home and Community Based Services they need in a consumer-directed way.
This program is for Veterans who need personal care services and help with activities of daily living. Examples include help with bathing, dressing, or fixing meals. This program is also for Veterans who are isolated, or their caregiver is experiencing burden.
Veterans in this program are assessed for eligibility and once eligible, a budget is authorized for the Veteran to utilize for their care needs. With guidance from a Service Coordinator, Veterans hire their own caregiver to meet their daily needs and help them live at home in their community.
